Mango Markets Attacker Receives 52-Month Sentence for Crypto Theft and Child Exploitation Crimes
Avraham ’Avi’ Eisenberg, the perpetrator behind the $110 million exploit of Mango Markets in 2022, has been sentenced to 52 months in prison. The sentence includes penalties for possession of over 1,200 child exploitation materials, compounding his legal troubles from the crypto theft. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian underscored the severity of the crimes, stating the punishment aims to deter similar offenses.
The trial concluded after nearly a year, with Eisenberg facing dual consequences for his financial crimes and illicit possession of exploitative content. The court’s decision reflects growing judicial scrutiny of crypto-related offenses and their intersection with other serious crimes.
